2016 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the 1996 USA Olympic Team which was packed with talent like Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Magic Johnson and that’s just naming a few. Scottie Pippen was also on the squad which is referred to as the ‘Dream Team 2’ and his shoes, the Nike Air More Uptempo ‘Olympic’ will return in 2016 celebrating the 20th Anniversary.
Overall, the 2016 edition of the ‘Olympic’ Nike Air More Uptempo will look like the original release that took place back in 1996 and retro 2012. Made infamous by Scottie Pippen wearing this model during the 1996 Olympics which at the heel shows his number 8. Nike has decided to remove Pippen’s Olympic number for the 2016 release for reasons unknown. Other than that, the large AIR across the sides will come in white while blue hits the panels, tongue and other small areas and finally an orange Swoosh on the tongue.
